Law School Rankings and Data: All 196 ABA-Approved Schools

American Bar Association disclosures · updated November 2, 2026

Every ABA-approved law school must tell applicants the same things in the same format: who gets in, what it costs, who leaves, who passes the bar and who gets a job. We gathered all of it in one place. Start with the top ten on each measure, then sort the full table by what matters to you.

Admissions and the bar exam

Each dot is one school (192 with at least 20 first-time takers). Schools that admit higher LSAT scores tend to pass the bar at higher rates, but the spread at every score shows how much the school itself matters. Hover or tap a dot for the school; click it for its page.

Published rankings and reports

These are their publishers' own work, so we link to them rather than copy them.

U.S. News & World Report — the best-known annual ranking, built on a weighted mix of outcomes, admissions and reputation surveys.

The Princeton Review — lists drawn largely from surveys of current students, on topics from career prospects to quality of life.

Law School Transparency — not a ranking but school-by-school reports on jobs, cost and admissions, now hosted on LSAC's LawHub.

How to read the numbers

LSAT and GPA are the medians for the full entering class of fall 2025, full- and part-time together. Half the class scored higher and half lower. Each school page also gives the 25th and 75th percentiles.

Acceptance is offers divided by completed applications. Tuition and fees is the full-time annual charge for 2025-26; for public schools the table shows the in-state rate. Living costs are on each school page.

Bar pass is the first-time pass rate for exams taken in 2025, and vs. state compares it with the average for the states where the school's graduates sat. Lawyer jobs is the share of 2025 graduates in full-time, long-term jobs that require bar passage ten months after graduation. Big Law + fed. clerk adds full-time, long-term jobs at firms of more than 250 lawyers and federal judicial clerkships.

A dash means the school reported nothing for that figure, usually because it is too new to have graduates.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a law school ranking?

Not a single one. Each top-10 list ranks schools on one thing the ABA measures, such as bar passage or jobs, and says how. We don't blend measures into one score, because any weighting would be our opinion. The table lets you sort by whatever matters to you.

Where does the data come from?

From the American Bar Association, which accredits U.S. law schools and requires each one to report its admissions, costs, scholarships, attrition, bar passage and graduate jobs every year in the same format. We copy the figures from the ABA's own files and link each school's ABA report.

How current is it?

Admissions, cost and scholarship figures describe the class that entered in fall 2025. Jobs are for 2025 graduates, measured in March 2026. First-time bar passage covers exams taken in 2025, and the two-year figure follows 2023 graduates. The ABA publishes new admissions data each December and new jobs and bar data each spring, and we update this page after each release.

What counts as a "lawyer job"?

A full-time, long-term job that requires bar passage, as the ABA defines it: expected to last at least a year and at least 35 hours a week. Jobs paid for by the school, short-term jobs and part-time jobs are reported separately and not counted here.

Why compare bar passage to the state average?

Bar exams differ from state to state, and some are much harder to pass than others. The ABA compares each school's first-time pass rate with the average for the states where its graduates sat, weighted by how many took each exam. A positive number means the school beat that average.

Why isn't a school listed?

This page covers the 196 ABA-approved schools that filed the 2025 disclosures. Schools approved only by a state, such as California's state-accredited schools, don't report to the ABA and aren't included. A school approved after the 2025 reports will appear with the next release.

Source: the American Bar Association's Required Disclosures and its list of approved law schools. The figures are as each school reported them to the ABA. This page is general information, not advice on where to apply.
