Title 9 of the Maryland Rules governs family law actions in the circuit courts — adoption and private agency guardianship; divorce, annulment, alimony, child support and child custody; domestic violence protective orders; and termination of parental rights where a child was conceived without consent. It sits alongside the Maryland Rules of Civil Procedure, which continue to apply except where these rules provide otherwise.
