The Rules of Civil Procedure of 1979, as amended, are hereby repealed.
Sections of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1933 ed., that remained in force by virtue of Rule 72 of the Rules of Civil Procedure of 1979, however, shall not be deemed repealed.
The following provisions shall remain in force provisionally until repealed or otherwise modified by special legislation:
(1)Sections 39, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 249, and 252 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1933 ed.
(3)Sections 1 and 2 of Law No. 433 of May 14, 1951.
Por la presente se derogan las Reglas de Procedimiento Civil de 1979, según enmendadas.
No obstante, no se entenderán derogados aquellos artículos del Código de Enjuiciamiento Civil, edición de 1933, que quedaron vigentes en virtud de la Regla 72 de Procedimiento Civil de 1979.
Quedarán provisionalmente vigentes las siguientes disposiciones de ley hasta tanto sean de otro modo derogadas o modificadas por leyes especiales:
(1)Artículos 39, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 249 y 252 del Código de Enjuiciamiento Civil, edición de 1933.
(2)Sección 2 de la Ley Núm. 39 de 20 de abril de 1942.
(3)Artículos 1 y 2 de la Ley Núm. 433 de 14 de mayo de 1951.

The repeal.The Rules of Civil Procedure of 1979, as amended, are hereby repealed.
The first saving. Sections of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1933 edition, that remained in force by virtue of Rule 72 of the 1979 rulesshall not be deemed repealed. A nineteenth-century procedural code survives in fragments, carried forward by one gap-filling rule after another.
The second saving, expressly temporary. The following remain in force provisionally until repealed or otherwise modified by special legislation:
(1)Sections 39, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 249, and 252 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1933 edition. (2)Section 2 of Law No. 39 of April 20, 1942.(3)Sections 1 and 2 of Law No. 433 of May 14, 1951.
The word provisionally is doing real work. These provisions were not endorsed; they were left standing because repealing them without a replacement would have opened a hole. Anyone relying on one of them should check whether the special legislation this rule anticipates has since arrived.
La derogación.Quedan derogadas las Reglas de Procedimiento Civil de 1979, según enmendadas.
La primera salvedad. Los artículos del Código de Enjuiciamiento Civil, edición de 1933, que quedaron vigentes en virtud de la Regla 72 de las reglas de 1979no se entenderán derogados. Un código procesal decimonónico sobrevive en fragmentos, arrastrado por una regla que llena vacíos tras otra.
La segunda salvedad, expresamente temporal. Lo siguiente continuará vigente provisionalmente hasta que se derogue o modifique por legislación especial:
