In computing any period of time allowed by these rules, by order of court, or by any applicable statute, the day of the act, event, or default from which the designated period of time begins to run shall not be included. The last day of the period so computed shall be included, unless it is a Saturday, a Sunday, or a legal holiday, in which event the period runs until the next day which is not a Saturday, a Sunday, or a legal holiday. Any period may also be stayed or extended for good cause shown when so ordered by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico by resolution. When the period of time allowed is less than seven (7) days, intermediate Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays shall be excluded from the computation. Half-holidays shall be considered as full holidays.
En el cómputo de cualquier término concedido por estas reglas, o por orden del tribunal o por cualquier estatuto aplicable, no se contará el día en que se realice el acto, evento o incumplimiento después del cual el término fijado empieza a transcurrir. El último día del término así computado se incluirá siempre que no sea sábado, domingo ni día de fiesta legal, extendiéndose entonces el plazo hasta el fin del próximo día que no sea sábado, domingo ni día legalmente feriado. También podrá suspenderse o extenderse cualquier término por causa justificada cuando el Tribunal Supremo de Puerto Rico lo decrete mediante resolución. Cuando el plazo concedido sea menor de siete (7) días, los sábados, domingos o días de fiesta legal intermedios se excluirán del cómputo. Medio día feriado se considerará como feriado en su totalidad.

The method. In computing any period allowed by these rules, by order of court, or by any applicable statute: the day of the act, event, or default from which the period begins to run is not included, and the last day of the period is included.
Unless the last day is closed. If the last day is a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the period runs until the next day which is none of those.
Short periods skip the weekends entirely. When the period allowed is less than seven days, intermediate Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays are excluded from the computation. A five-day period is five working days, not five calendar days.
Half-holidays count as whole ones.Half-holidays shall be considered as full holidays for all of the above.
And a residual power. Any period may be stayed or extended for good cause shown when so ordered by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico by resolution. This is what lets the Supreme Court toll terms island-wide — after a hurricane, for instance — without each party having to move individually.
El método. Al computar cualquier término concedido por estas reglas, por orden del tribunal o por cualquier ley aplicable: no se cuenta el día del acto, evento o incumplimiento desde el cual comienza a correr, y sí se cuenta el último día del término.
Salvo que el último día esté cerrado. Si el último día es sábado, domingo o día feriado, el término corre hasta el próximo día que no sea ninguno de esos.
Los términos cortos saltan los fines de semana por completo. Cuando el término es menor de siete días, se excluyen del cómputo los sábados, domingos y días feriados intermedios. Un término de cinco días son cinco días laborables, no cinco días naturales.
Los medios días feriados cuentan como completos.Los medios días feriados se considerarán como días feriados completos para todo lo anterior.
Y una facultad residual. Cualquier término puede suspenderse o prorrogarse con justa causa cuando así lo ordene el Tribunal Supremo de Puerto Rico mediante resolución. Es lo que permite al Supremo paralizar términos en toda la isla —tras un huracán, por ejemplo— sin que cada parte tenga que pedirlo por separado.
