In every action, before or after entering judgment, and on motion of the claimant, the court may issue any provisional order that may be necessary to secure satisfaction of the judgment. The court may grant an attachment, garnishment, prohibition to alienate, claim and delivery of personal property, receivership, an order to do or to desist from doing any specific act, or it may order any other measure it deems appropriate under the circumstances of the case. In every case in which a provisional remedy is sought, the court shall consider the interests of all the parties and adjudicate as substantial justice may require.
En todo pleito antes o después de sentencia, por moción de la parte reclamante, el tribunal podrá dictar cualquier orden provisional que sea necesaria para asegurar la efectividad de la sentencia. El tribunal podrá conceder el embargo, el embargo de fondos en posesión de un tercero, la prohibición de enajenar, la reclamación y entrega de bienes muebles, la sindicatura, una orden para hacer o desistir de hacer cualesquiera actos específicos, o podrá ordenar cualquier otra medida que estime apropiada, según las circunstancias del caso. En todo caso en que se solicite un remedio provisional, el tribunal considerará los intereses de todas las partes y dispondrá según requiera la justicia sustancial.

When. In every action, before or after entering judgment, and on motion of the claimant. The power does not expire at judgment; it exists to make the judgment real.
What. Any provisional order necessary to secure satisfaction of the judgment. The rule names attachment, garnishment, prohibition to alienate, claim and delivery of personal property, receivership, an order to do or to desist from doing any specific act — and then adds any other measure it deems appropriate under the circumstances of the case. The list is illustrative.
The standard. In every case where a provisional remedy is sought, the court shall consider the interests of all the parties and adjudicate as substantial justice may require. That is the whole test, and it is deliberately not a checklist. The specific rules that follow — notice, bond, the showings required for an ex parte order — put structure around it.
Cuándo. En todo pleito, antes o después de dictarse la sentencia, y a moción de la parte reclamante. La facultad no expira con la sentencia: existe para hacerla real.
Qué. Cualquier orden provisional necesaria para asegurar la satisfacción de la sentencia. La regla menciona el embargo, la retención, la prohibición de enajenar, la reclamación y entrega de bienes muebles, la sindicatura, una orden para hacer o dejar de hacer un acto específico, y añade cualquier otra medida que estime apropiada según las circunstancias del caso. La lista es ilustrativa.
El criterio. En todo caso en que se solicite un remedio provisional, el tribunal considerará los intereses de todas las partes y resolverá según lo requiera la justicia sustancial. Ese es todo el criterio, y no es una lista de cotejo a propósito. Las reglas que siguen —notificación, fianza, las demostraciones exigidas para una orden ex parte— le ponen estructura.
