Plain-English Summary

Section 814.77 attaches to forfeitures imposed under s. 23.50, the general enforcement provision for chapter 23 natural resources violations. Like ss. 814.75 and 814.76, it works through a numbered list of cross-references rather than setting amounts directly.

The list mixes natural-resources-specific surcharges — the commercial fish protection surcharge, the fishing net removal surcharge, the fishing shelter removal surcharge, the Great Lakes resource surcharge, the natural resources surcharge, and the natural resources restitution surcharge — with several generally applicable ones that also appear on the ch. 814 surcharge lists elsewhere: the court support services surcharge under s. 814.85, the justice information system surcharge under s. 814.86 (1), the jail surcharge, the penalty surcharge, and the special prosecution clerks surcharge under s. 814.86 (1m).

As with the other surcharge sections in this subchapter, every item applies only “if applicable” to the violation before the court.
