Plain-English Summary

A single sentence, added in 2017, and it exists because notice only works if the court knows where to send it. Within 5 business days after receiving notice of a change of address from a party to an action affecting the family, the clerk of circuit court must enter the new address in the case file.

The duty is the clerk's; the notice is the party's to give. Section 767.58 carries the corresponding obligation on a party subject to a support order to report a change of address and employer.
