Text size

Any person intervening to enforce any lien or claims adverse to the owners of the craft attached shall, at the time of filing the petition, file with the clerk a bond as in the case of original attachment.

Plain-English Summary

This section attaches a bonding requirement to intervention. Anyone intervening to enforce a lien or claim adverse to the owners of the attached craft must, at the moment of filing the intervening petition, file a bond with the clerk in the same form required of the original attaching plaintiff under Section 4-205.

The requirement gives the owner the same protection against a groundless intervening claim that Section 4-205 gives against a groundless original attachment.
