This tool hard-codes the Illinois Supreme Court's own statewide annual Holiday Order, re-derived by rule (not the general state-employee holiday list, which is broader) — but a court administrative order isn't part of this project's own verified statute/rule corpus the way every other citation in this tool is, and each circuit's chief judge may add or override holidays locally. Verify the current year's order at illinoiscourts.gov, and add any local closures here as comma-separated YYYY-MM-DD dates.
What this tool does not compute
- General motion notice periods. Unlike some states, Illinois sets no single statewide "N days before the hearing" rule for ordinary motions — it's set by each circuit's own local rules (Supreme Court Rules 11 and 12 govern only how and when service itself is effective, not how much notice a motion needs). Check your circuit's local rules directly.
- Summary judgment response and reply periods. 735 ILCS 5/2-1005 sets no statewide notice, response, or reply schedule for a summary-judgment motion — like general motion practice, this is left to local circuit rule.
- Administrative review (735 ILCS 5/3-101 et seq.), mandatory court-annexed arbitration (Supreme Court Rules 86–95), Cook County and other circuit local rules, offer-to-settle / cost-shifting deadlines (Illinois has no general statewide analog to Federal Rule 68), and expired COVID-era emergency tolling orders — each runs on its own track this first version doesn't model.
