Plain-English Summary

Section 15-1222 clears up which statutes Article XV means when it refers to other acts by name. It states that such references mean the named acts as amended from time to time, and then singles out two in particular. “Torrens Act” means “An act concerning land titles,” approved May 1, 1897, the statute governing land registration referenced in Sections 15-1216 and elsewhere. Subsection (b) is marked “(Blank),” meaning it no longer contains substantive text. “Mechanics Lien Act” means the Mechanics Lien Act found at 770 ILCS 60, the source of the mechanics' lien concept used in Section 15-1206 and Section 15-1107.

By confirming that these references track the acts “as amended from time to time,” the section avoids freezing Article XV to an outdated version of the Torrens Act or the Mechanics Lien Act as either evolves.
