Pennsylvania Civil Procedure Deadline Calculator
Computed under Pa.R.J.A. 107 · 61 deadlines across 9 categories
Pick a deadline, enter the date that starts it, and this tool counts it the way Pennsylvania does. Pa.R.Civ.P. 106 is gone; since January 1, 2024 Pa.R.J.A. 107 governs. Every calendar day counts, however short the period, and only a last day that falls on a weekend or legal holiday moves. Pennsylvania adds no days for mail in the trial court. Watch two Pennsylvania traps: post-trial motions are due in 10 days, and the appeal period runs from the day notice of the order is noted on the docket. Every result shows its work.
Advanced: additional non-court days
This tool moves a last day off the legal holidays that Pennsylvania and federal law create and on which courts close: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Flag Day and Election Day are legal holidays too, but most courts stay open, so the tool keeps the earlier date and warns you. The day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Fridays observed for Saturday holidays are court closures whose status as legal holidays is doubtful; again the tool keeps the date and warns you (for a waiting period it waits them out instead). Add any other county closure here as YYYY-MM-DD.
What this tool does not compute
- County local rules. Motion practice, preliminary-objection briefing and pre-trial schedules are set county by county; this tool applies the statewide rules and says where a local rule usually governs.
- Election Code appeals (three days with no weekend or holiday extension since September 11, 2026) and Children’s Fast Track appeals.
- Family law (Rules 1910 to 1960), protection from abuse, and custody, which run on their own timelines.
- Appellate briefing schedules and agency petitions for review.
- Appeals from magisterial district judges (Pa.R.Civ.P.M.D.J. 1001 et seq.).
- Removal to federal court. Use the Federal Deadline Calculator.
