Plain-English Summary

The rule has two sentences and two requirements. First, an application to sell personal property must include an adequate description of the property, so the court knows what it is authorizing. Second, unless there is good cause, the court will not grant an order of sale before the inventory is filed — the court sees the whole estate before any part of it is sold.

The rule covers personal property only. Sales of land follow R.C. Chapter 2127 and Rule 73.16.
