Plain-English Summary

After marking out the shares on the ground under the preceding section, the referees have to put their work into a report the court can review. Section 25-21,101 sets the requirements: the report must be in writing, and where more than one referee was appointed, it needs the signatures of at least two of them.

Beyond the signature requirement, the report has to describe the respective shares with reasonable particularity — enough detail that each owner’s portion is clearly identifiable — and it must come with a plat of the premises, a drawn map showing how the property has been divided.
