Indiana Civil Procedure Deadline Calculator

Computed under T.R. 6(A) and T.R. 6(G) · 72 deadlines across 9 categories

Pick a deadline, enter the date that starts it, and this tool counts it under Indiana’s Trial Rule 6. Periods shorter than seven days skip weekends, holidays and closed days; longer ones count every day and move only the last. Service by U.S. mail adds three days. Indiana answers are due in 20 days, and a motion to correct error can be deemed denied without notice. Every result shows its work.

Advanced: additional non-court days

This tool applies Indiana’s legal holidays under IC 1-1-9-1: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, plus primary and general election days in even-numbered years and municipal-election years (2027, 2031). A holiday on a Saturday is observed the Friday before, one on a Sunday the Monday after. Lincoln’s and Washington’s Birthdays are legal holidays by statute, but state government observes them on other days: it closes on the day after Thanksgiving and a late-December weekday (December 24, 2026; December 23, 2027). None of these four days moves a date here; the result warns you instead. Juneteenth is not an Indiana holiday. A day your clerk’s office is closed also extends a deadline; add any such day here as YYYY-MM-DD.

  • Small claims, family law, probate and criminal cases.
  • Removal to federal court. Use the Federal Deadline Calculator.
