§ 1449.Presumptively Abandoned Money Or Property Paid Or Delivered to Treasurer Or Controller Under Section 7644, Probate Code

The Probate Code has its own trigger for treating estate property as presumptively abandoned, under Section 7644, and this section makes sure that property lands in the same procedural framework as the rest of this article. Whatever is paid or delivered to the Treasurer or Controller under that Probate Code section is deemed paid or delivered for deposit under this article.

Once that classification applies, the property is transmitted, received, accounted for, and disposed of the way this title provides for any other unclaimed estate property, another instance of the pattern running through this article, where the specific Probate Code provision that sends money to the state matters less than making sure it all ends up governed by the same set of rules.
