Amendment History

R.L. 1910, § 5025.

Plain-English Summary

Referees don't work for free, and Section 619 doesn't fix their pay to any set rate. The court decides what compensation is just and proper for the referees' services.

Whatever the court sets, it doesn't come out of court funds; it gets taxed as part of the costs of the case, the same way other litigation expenses are allocated between the parties.
