Frequently Asked Questions

What is the "Uniform Arbitration Act" in Oklahoma?

It's the name Section 1851 gives to Sections 1851 through 1881 of Title 12 -- the statute covering arbitration agreements, arbitration proceedings, and the confirmation, modification, or vacation of arbitration awards in Oklahoma.

Is Oklahoma's arbitration act the same law used in other states?

Oklahoma adopted a version of a model act meant to promote uniformity among the states that enact it, a goal Section 1880 makes explicit, though each state's legislature adapts the text as it sees fit.
