Text size

A warrant may be issued under the requirements of this title to authorize personnel of the Department of Fish and Game to conduct inspections of locations where fish, amphibia, or aquatic plants are held or stored under Division 12 (commencing with Section 15000) of the Fish and Game Code.

Plain-English Summary

This section is the first of several that extend Title 13's general inspection warrant procedure to a specific state agency's specialized enforcement needs. A warrant can be issued under this title's requirements to authorize Department of Fish and Game personnel to inspect locations where fish, amphibians, or aquatic plants are held or stored, as regulated under Division 12, commencing with Section 15000, of the Fish and Game Code.

Rather than creating a separate warrant procedure for wildlife enforcement, the Legislature plugged this agency's inspection needs directly into the same cause standard and execution rules that already govern inspection warrants generally.
