Full Text of § 695.060

Text size

Except as provided in Section 708.630, a license issued by a public entity to engage in any business, profession, or activity is not subject to enforcement of a money judgment.

Plain-English Summary

Occupational and business licenses issued by government agencies get special protection from money judgments. Section 695.060 makes such a license generally unavailable to satisfy a judgment -- a creditor can't seize or force the sale of, say, a professional license the way it might reach other property.

The only carve-out is § 708.630, which supplies its own mechanism for reaching value tied to certain licenses. Outside whatever § 708.630 allows, licenses issued by public entities stay off the table for enforcement purposes under this division.
