Text size

Unless otherwise provided in this title, Title 9 (commencing with Section 1280) shall be applicable to any arbitration proceeding undertaken pursuant to this title.

Plain-English Summary

This title builds a specialized labor arbitration scheme, but it does not try to reinvent every procedural detail from scratch. Instead, this section folds in the general arbitration statute -- Title 9, starting at Section 1280 -- to fill whatever gaps this title leaves open.

That backstop only applies where this title is silent. Anywhere this title sets its own rule, such as the last-best-offer procedure or the confidentiality period for the panel's decision, that specific rule controls instead of the general arbitration statute.
