Text size

The list of expert witnesses shall include the name, business or residence address, and business, occupation, or profession of each person intended to be called as an expert witness by the party and a statement of the subject matter to which his testimony relates.

Plain-English Summary

This section keeps the expert-witness list short but specific. For every expert a party intends to call, the list has to give the expert's name, a business or residence address, the expert's business, occupation, or profession, and a statement of the subject matter the testimony will cover.

That combination lets the opposing side identify who's coming, where to reach them for discovery under § 1258.020, and roughly what ground they'll cover -- without requiring the full substance of the opinion, which instead belongs in the separate statement of valuation data required by §§ 1258.250 and 1258.260 for any expert who will offer a valuation opinion.

Frequently Asked Questions
