§ 1235.160.Person

Rather than draft separate rules for individuals, businesses, and government bodies every time the title needs to refer to someone who might hold property or exercise a power, this section folds them all into one term. "Person" includes any public entity, individual, association, organization, partnership, trust, limited liability company, or corporation.

Including "public entity" within the definition of "person" is notable -- it means provisions elsewhere in the title that refer generically to a "person" doing something can, depending on context, reach a public entity too, not just private individuals or businesses.
